Since July 2008, Tasty Touring has been a creative outlet for writing and photography, and a way to record and share food and drink-related recommendations and experiences in Austin and beyond. It’s also where I publish a guide to maple syrup in Austin.

I share information more frequently in the Tasty Touring Facebook  Group, and on Instagram and Twitter (my handle is @tastytouring),  so I hope you will take the time to connect.

I feel lucky to be part of the wonderful Austin community and am proud to be part of The Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau’s “Ask a Local” program. I have been a member of The Austin Food Blogger Alliance (AFBA) since it was formed in 2011, and served on the board of AFBA as the communications chair from 2011 to 2013.

Tasty Touring was named  “Best Local Food Blog”  in 2010 and 2011 in the Austin Chronicle‘sBest of Austin” Reader’s Poll. In 2011, I won a trip to Europe from Whole Foods Market with this one minute video.

Adam and I became engaged in Paris on that trip, and we were married in Houston exactly three months later, on Christmas Day 2011. On Oct. 6, 2012 we got married again, this time at Jester King Brewery in Austin; our black Lab/Great Dane Lucy joined our wedding party as the Dog of Honor.

Most of the best pictures and all of the design of this blog were created by my talented husband, Adam Holzband.
