Three Generations of Family Wedding Portraits

A project that I started, but did not finish, before our wedding last October was to print out family wedding portraits to display on the welcome table. And since my parents and in-laws spent the time to find and scan the photos for me, I wanted to share them here in order of wedding date.
My mom’s parents, Joe and Betty Leitch, were married in St. Catharines, Ontario — Betty’s hometown — on May 24, 1937. Papa and Mama — as they were known to their grandchildren, met in early 1936, …

Our Texas Hill Country Wedding

For me, really feeling like a truly married person has been a gradual process over a year and a half period. Adam and I got engaged in Paris on Sept. 25, 2011, got legally married in Houston in a hastily planned ceremony on Dec. 25, 2011 (Christmas Day), and co-hosted a second wedding ceremony and celebration in Austin on Oct. 6, 2012. The Sandwich Project

Adam designed our wedding website, and the best part of the site was definitely the “ADAM + JODI” banner he created from scratch. It all happened on a Sunday in May when Adam had the inspiration of making our names out of sandwiches.

After brunch, I took a nap while Adam and Emily went to Central …

Hospitality Bags for Wedding Guests

In planning our wedding, two things that I put a lot of thought into was (well, other than every little detail surrounding the wedding) the hotel where the guests would be staying and their hospitality bags to welcome them to Austin. The hotel we chose was the Sheraton Austin, and we went with that hotel because we liked the location near downtown and with easy access to the highway, the lobby was bright and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and each bed had white sheets and comforters (meaning they …

Our Austin Engagement Shoot

Adam and I are blessed to have connected to the most amazing photographer for our wedding, Nathan Russell. We admired Nathan’s work on my friend Kathryn Hutchison’s blog, and we were thrilled that Nathan and his wife Amy agreed to capture our wedding celebration on Oct. 6.
An “engagement shoot” was part of our photography package, and I was relieved that we would have the chance to get to know Nathan and Amy before the big day, and also get some practice in posing for photos together. We got together after …
