We Ate, We Ate, We Biked. We Ate More.

The Tasty Touring South Austin Food Trailer Tour was over a week ago and Adam’s dad Lenny has been clamoring (or so I’m told) for a recap on the blog.
This is for you, Lenny.
Like the East Austin Taco Tour the month before, the weather played a large role. Instead of torrential rains, it was hot, Africa hot, that morning. Normally, I like the comfort of my car and it’s lovely air conditioning during the summer months in Austin. As tour planner, I felt it was only fair that I brave …

Sunflower: You Haunt My Dreams

My dear friend Sara has been living in Sao Paolo, Brasil since this summer. She’s there for a total of two years working as a fifth grade teacher in an international school. She hasn’t yet found good Vietnamese food there so it just made sense that we would eat dinner at one of her favorite spots in Austin last night.

Capital with an "A"

My dad and I are inordinately interested in spelling. I was mentioning that I always have to look up the spelling of capitol vs. capital. I don’t think I’ll ever have to look that up again because we came up with the perfect device — The capital city is obviously chosen before the building so it’s spelled with an “A.” The capitol is generally round like an “O” (at least the ones in Austin and D.C. are). Can anyone can help me remember the difference between “affect” and “effect?”

It’s interesting …

lulu b’s vietnamese sandwiches

Over the past few years, trailers serving food have popped up all over South Austin. We are used to seeing taco stands all over town but these new trailers are different. They are sleek, hip, and often feature more upscale food.

On Saturday I went to Iron Rock Raceway with Rick and Bryce to watch them race Go Karts. After over an hour of driving tiny cars around a hot track wearing thick jumpsuits, they were ready to grab a bite to eat. Since they weren’t dressed for indoor dining, we …
