My 10-Day Juice Feast

I’m on Day 4 of not eating. Well, I’m taking in calories, but there’s nothing to chew on or prepare. I’m on day 4 of a 10-day juice fast (or feast if you’re a glass half full kind of person), compliments of Matt Shook and David Ansel of Juicebox Austin.
Inspired by Claudia Alarcon, who wrote about her experiences with 10-day juicing on her blog, and in the Austin Chronicle, I decided to try out a juice cleanse myself.
I’ve been wanting to refocus my energies on getting healthy, and have had …

Juicebox & Soup Peddler Open Just in Time

One of the first people I met when I moved to Austin back in 2003 was the Soup Peddler. At that time, he was the roommate of my best friend and had started the business out of the kitchen of their South Austin home. I even worked for him for a total of three weeks at one point!

David Ansel, a friend of mine since I first moved to Austin, was our guest this morning on the KGSR Late Show. Below he shows off his trusty Soup Peddler branded cooler that he used to transport containers of soup and entrees for us lucky ones to try.

Some things you might not know about the Soup Peddler:

You must order your food by the Saturday night before the week you would like to pick it up or have it delivered. This is not fast food people. Sign up for his e-newsletter …

We Ate, We Ate, We Biked. We Ate More.

The Tasty Touring South Austin Food Trailer Tour was over a week ago and Adam’s dad Lenny has been clamoring (or so I’m told) for a recap on the blog.
This is for you, Lenny.
Like the East Austin Taco Tour the month before, the weather played a large role. Instead of torrential rains, it was hot, Africa hot, that morning. Normally, I like the comfort of my car and it’s lovely air conditioning during the summer months in Austin. As tour planner, I felt it was only fair that I brave …
