Our Texas Hill Country Wedding

For me, really feeling like a truly married person has been a gradual process over a year and a half period. Adam and I got engaged in Paris on Sept. 25, 2011, got legally married in Houston in a hastily planned ceremony on Dec. 25, 2011 (Christmas Day), and co-hosted a second wedding ceremony and celebration in Austin on Oct. 6, 2012. Last week, I officially changed my name to Jodi Bart Holzband on my driver’s license, and today I’m finally sharing some of my favorite moments from our Hill …

The Sandwich Project

Adam designed our wedding website, and the best part of the site was definitely the “ADAM + JODI” banner he created from scratch. It all happened on a Sunday in May when Adam had the inspiration of making our names out of sandwiches.

A Taste of Austin’s Noble Pig

Last night, I had the pleasure of being invited to a tasting at the Noble Pig. Visiting the Noble Pig has been high on my list to visit since it opened last fall. But as my friends can tell you, I rarely venture outside of the twenty minute driving radius from my house. Since Noble Pig is about thirty minutes from home, it just didn’t happen until last night’s food blogger event.
And let me tell you, Noble Pig is totally worth the trek!

Owner/Chefs John Bates and Brandon Martinez started us …

Hearty Vegetable Soup and Pressed Sandwiches

People sometimes ask me about ┬ámy favorite restaurant. Lately Adam and I tell them, “at your house or my house.” We just love enjoying home-cooked meals with friends. For my birthday dinner, I asked my friend Jill if we could come over to her apartment in New York.
She made a delicious recipe from Ina Garten’s Back to Basics, “Pappa al Pomodoro,” a hearty vegetable soup.
Jillian and Paul have a sandwich press, and after enjoying wonderful pressed sandwiches made with pancetta, gruyere, and homemade aioli, I’m thinking we need one.

Jillian and …
