Adam and I recently went to San Antonio for a little one night getaway — well, not exactly recently — it was last Christmas Eve to be exact. It was my first time staying in San Antonio overnight and it’s been on my “to blog” list ever since. We stayed at the Liz Lambert owned Hotel Havana which was originally built in 1914 and opened in 2010 as a boutique, dog friendly hotel.

This coming weekend, Jan. 17-20, is the second annual San Antonio Cocktail Conference.
I went for the day last year and attended just a couple classes, and from what I experienced, it was a fantastic event for anyone who is interested in drinking cocktails and/or making them at home. I generally try not to mix business with pleasure on this blog, and most of my business doesn’t happen in Austin. It generally takes place on an hour-long conference call with clients in other time zones, via e-mail chains, and at occasional out-of-town meetings.
