Coolhaus Ice Cream Sandwiches

If you’re at ACL today, I recommend keeping an eye out for Coolhaus Ice Cream Truck on Barton Springs Road — probably at Thom’s Market. According to their Twitter feed, they have been camped out there all weekend serving up delicious ice cream sandwiches to the music loving masses.

The Austin Coolhaus truck is the second location nationwide, the first is in L.A. According to New York Street Food, they will be bringing Coolhaus to New York City in 2011.
Coolhaus is an architectural dessert miracle with a wonderful …

More Goodness from NYC Food Trucks

While my previous post focused on food trucks that were parked on weekdays during lunchtime on Park between 26 and 27, I’ll cover some other food trucks around the great metropolis known as New York in this one.
The day I met Perry of New York Street Food at Wafel & Dinges (see previous post if you missed it), Adam and our friend Josh met us, and Perry recommended that we walk over to the Desi Truck parked at 27th and 5th Avenue since they were in the mood for Indian …

This is for you, Lenny.
Like the East Austin Taco Tour the month before, the weather played a large role. Instead of torrential rains, it was hot, Africa hot, that morning. Normally, I like the comfort of my car and it’s lovely air conditioning during the summer months in Austin. As tour planner, I felt it was only fair that I brave …

I Scream, We Scream, Y’all Scream for Ice Cream

If you love ice cream cones as much as I do, you will be very happy at least twice in the next two weeks. Why? Because Ben & Jerry’s and Baskin Robbins are providing FREE and as good as free ice cream cones.
I’m not afraid to say that my favorite ice cream is Baskin Robbins — probably because we would go there every week during the summer months in Maryland and my mom and I would always get mint chocolate chip or pralines in cream. While I enjoy the big …
