I’m pleased to introduce you to Lenny H., who submitted the post below on Cupid’s Hot Dogs via an e-mail to his son (and my boyfriend), Adam, who forwarded it on to me. After last week’s KGSR radio show and blog post on Frank, a fancy hot dog restaurant and bar in downtown Austin, both Lenny and Adam’s cousin Evan wanted to spread the Cupid’s gospel. Lenny grew up in the Los Angeles area and Evan still lives there. Take it away, Lenny:

This morning was truly a sausage fest on the KGSR “Late Show” for a visit with the chef and owners of Frank, purveyors of artisan sausage in downtown Austin. I arrived and walked in to the kitchen only to see the kitchen table transformed into a prep line where Matt (the chef) and Geoff and Daniel (the owners) were preparing fresh hot dogs.

Yesterday I met Steve at Ben’s Chili Bowl in D.C. This U Street institution celebrated their 50th Anniversary in August. I knew I couldn’t show my face back in Austin without visiting Ben’s on this trip. Now that I’m a “food blogger” there are certain expectations I must uphold.
