Like many locals, I get a bit angry when SXSW rolls around each year. Our city swells to the point of supersaturation, the traffic is horrendous, there are lines at restaurants we can usually get into easily, and those who work downtown (like me) are subjected to the sound of loud music and revelry while we toil away at our desks.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the first ever Food Touring event. It was great to meet some of my online buddies IRL (Mando of Taco Journalism and Morgan Fairchild’s much younger twin, Jen B.).
Some of us met at around 10 a.m. at Flip Happy Crepes to avoid the rush. By 11:15 a.m., the line for these delectable wraps was pretty long.

Brandon and I celebrated Obama’s win a couple hours before it was actually called by checking out Hey Cupcake, the airstream trailor stand on South Congress Avenue.
Lucy was extremely happy with the customer service because they provided her with homemade, organic, peanut-butter flavor dog treats. She even showed off her favorite trick and jumped up to the window to give the cupcake man a high five. The owner tells me that someone on staff bakes those dog treats and brings ‘em in for the customers dogs. So cool.
