Wonders of New Mexico: Road Trip 2011

Adam and I drove almost without stopping from Marathon, TX to Roswell, NM to check out the UFO Museum. After five hours in the car, I kind of looked like an alien myself.  While this “From Roswell to Your Kitchen” cookbook looked intriguing from the cover, it was actually just recipes from local folks for things they enjoy making at home — no recipes from aliens here.

NYC Food Trucks on Park Avenue

Thanks to Twitter, @??? (Tony ?), connected me to Perry from @nystfood, who e-mailed me a list of some of his favorite food trucks in the city. At the moment, Perry specializes in Manhattan food trucks, which served me just fine, since we would be spending most of the week in the city. Lunches were unplanned, due to my work schedule, so I was hoping to visit a handful of food trucks midday. Thanks to Perry and his wonderful site, that’s exactly what I did.

Your Mom’s Burgers are so Good….

I remember the day I ate at Your Mom’s Burger Bar in East Austin. My colleague and friend Stacy and I drove over to the E. Cesar Chavez and Chalmers burger joint for a quick lunch. It was the Friday before Mother’s Day and it seemed like an appropriate place to eat.

Today was a hot topic – we talked about the best burgers in the ATX on the morning show. Everyone has strong topics on burgers no matter what kind they favor. And then there are the vegetarians and non-beef eaters throwing their two cents in as well!
I’ve learned over the past few weeks that there are so many great burger options in our city and it might be time to branch out from some of my standbys and try something new!
