I was recently invited by the folks that make Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum to a media preview dinner to  check out a documentary on Sailor Jerry at Frank. In case you haven’t heard of him, Sailor Jerry was a tattoo artist in Hawaii during WWII — a time when he left his mark on many a drunk and/or love sick enlisted man.
Starting this weekend, there will be FREE public viewings in cities across the country of  ”Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry: The Life and Times of Norman Keith Collins.”

Today we chatted with the guys who brought Frank — a great bar, hot dog restaurant, and future meat market to downtown Austin.

This morning was truly a sausage fest on the KGSR “Late Show” for a visit with the chef and owners of Frank, purveyors of artisan sausage in downtown Austin. I arrived and walked in to the kitchen only to see the kitchen table transformed into a prep line where Matt (the chef) and Geoff and Daniel (the owners) were preparing fresh hot dogs.
