Bloody Valentine Plum Tarts

For my Food Lover’s Book Club discussion of Anthony Bourdain’s┬áMedium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook, I decided to make “Bloody Valentine Plum Tarts.” I found a recipe for “Warm Plum Bleeding Heart Pies,” online and decided to add dripping blood shapes and red sprinkles to the crust to create a more realistic bloody valentine look.
These tarts would be perfect for a Halloween dessert or dinner with an ex-husband or wife.

Anthony Bourdain’s “Medium Raw”

I don’t think of myself as a food reviewer and I’m definitely not a book reviewer. When I visit a restaurant or read a book, I just know what I like. Sure, I guess I could break down (with the help of friends) the elements that worked for me and those that didn’t. Austin Food Lovers Read The Omnivore’s Dilemma

For those living under a rock, Addie Broyles is a food reporter for the Statesman. She is truly immersed in the Austin community and hosts semi-monthly get-togethers called “Appetizers with Addie.” She also formed a group on Facebook called “Austin Food Bloggers.”
