I’m a sucker for new food trailers and after hearing about Sushi-A-Go-Go on Twitter last week, I had to check it out. I drove from my office up to Manor Road where this new trailer was parked after being enticed by their daily Twitter special of $1 edamame and fresh tuna and yellowtail roll for $5.50. This spot is cash-only and I had $8 so I rounded out my purchase with a $0.50 house made Go-Go-Sauce and left the rest for tip.

There will probably soon be a line out the door at Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop on S. 1st and Oltorf…to celebrate their half birthday (183 days old) they are giving away one baked good per person to the first 183 customers. That night I had wine, challah, pasta, and LOTS of dessert so it was time to get back on track.

My tush hurts today after spending most of Saturday biking around the city during the Austin Urban Farm Bicycle Tour. The tour kicked off Eat Local Week, a series of events sponsored by Edible Austin, a gorgeous free monthly publication.
Christine and I started the day off shivering as the temperature had dipped below freezing during the night. We bundled up as much as we could and set off to enjoy breakfast tacos and coffee at Whole Foods.
We then met up for the 14 mile bike ride starting at Bicycle Sport …

I’m trying to eat healthier lately so you might see more fruits and veggies appear in the blog. This weekend, I ate lots of great local food. It started off with dinner at Eastside Cafe with Katie — we split Crabmeat-Stuffed Shrimp — 4 jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab meat, bell peppers, and garlic and served over fresh spinach. We had mashed sweet potatoes and veggie soup on the side.
On Saturday, I headed down to the Sunset Valley Farmer’s Market to pick up some fresh local veggies. It seemed …
