Bright Spots to Lunch in Downtown Austin

I’ve been traveling a lot for work – eating meals on-the-go that have been generally disappointing. My expectations low, I flew back to Austin and stopped off at Sandra Bullock’s new shop, Walton’s Fancy and Staple at 6th between Rio Grande and Nueces, for a quick lunch before finishing off the day at my office. A Pleasant Morning

On a recent weekday morning, I dropped my car off for an oil change and walked over to Thunderbird Coffee to check my sites (gmail, Twitter, Facebook), eat breakfast, and work remotely.

I admired the wonderful products featured throughout the store — artisan meats, jams, crackers, cheese boards, wines, breads — this would be the perfect place to pick up treats for a romantic picnic or to grab a last-minute hostess gift. …

Skim Latte for Me

I live in the best neighborhood in the best city in the country. Ok, I’m biased.
Anyway, Clarksville really has it all – green space, great architecture, bars, restaurants, a grocery store, location, and great people. I’m lucky to have found an apartment I can afford to rent in such a desirable neighborhood. Clarksville is one of the areas in Austin where it is very apparent that we live in a “blue oasis in a red state.” Obama signs abound.
We also have the greatest coffee shop in all of Austin – …
