I think of Dallas as a chain restaurant kind of town. My firm has an office downtown and like many business districts, the only coffee shops around are places like Starbucks.

Hurray for new coffee options near my house! For those of you who live or work in East Central Austin, you should know that Elixir Coffee is open off Airport near the Mueller development.
Elixir coffee is made with locally roasted beans and served out of a 1952 Studebaker that the owners call “Roscoe.” They are usually parked at 4209 Airport Blvd, 78723 near the old airport hangar at Mueller park. When my friend Jen mentioned “the coffee guy” in Hyde Park who delivers coffee that he has roasted in his garage by scooter, I knew I had to try it. I love how this guy does his marketing. He showed up in Jen’s backyard offering freshly brewed coffee one day and she’s been ordering ever since.
