Stumptown Coffee in Portland

Both Adam and I are regular coffee drinkers (especially me), so of course we had to visit Portland’s Stumptown Coffee while on our honeymoon last fall. Here are some photos from our stop at the Stumptown in the lobby of the Ace Hotel.

I love the design and feel of their bags of coffee beans.

Cenote Coffee, Bites, and Sips

I’m relaxing in Cenote on Cesar Chavez in East Austin on a quiet Saturday night in Austin. Cenote is as a re-purposed historic 1800′s home that has been given new life as a coffee shop on steroids. It feels like the right place to be as I’m writing my 500th post on Tasty Touring.

Built in 1887 on what was then called Water Street, the building is on Austin’s first hand-drawn map, produced for the City of Austin in 1889. The owners received the Heritage Society of Austin’s “Merit Award for Adaptive Use” in …

Tasty Tuesdays: Best Espresso in Austin

We have so much to catch up on you guys! I’m so sorry that it’s been a little over a month since I last posted. Life has just been a whirlwind with the trip to Europe, coming back and catching up, etc.

Dallas’ The Pearl Cup

I think of Dallas as a chain restaurant kind of town. My firm has an office downtown and like many business districts, the only coffee shops around are places like Starbucks.
On a recent business trip, I asked my cab driver to stop off at The Pearl Cup, a newish coffee shop in Dallas off Henderson Avenue, opened by two women who moved to Dallas a few years back from Austin.

Elixir Coffee Keeps Mueller Buzzing

Hurray for new coffee options near my house! For those of you who live or work in East Central Austin, you should know that Elixir Coffee is open off Airport near the Mueller development.
Elixir coffee is made with locally roasted beans and served out of a 1952 Studebaker that the owners call “Roscoe.” They are usually parked at 4209 Airport Blvd, 78723 near the old airport hangar at Mueller park. Hours are 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. – noon Saturday and Sunday.
