Tasty Tuesdays: The Summer of Food Trailers!

For the entire history of Tasty Tuesdays, I’ve never asked you guys to share your favorite food trailer. Why? Because I hate when people ask me that. I mean, it depends on location, time of day, type of food, who I’m with, etc. So many factors!
So I’ve made the executive decision as chief tasting officer over here at Tasty Touring, Inc., to devote the next month and a half of Tasty Tuesdays to the best of Austin food trailers.

To my mind, the best way to do this is by time …

Memorable Meals in Northern/Central California

If you live or have plans to visit Northern or Central California (Berkeley, Napa Valley and Monterey), I have some recommendations for you!
Food lovers who visit Berkley generally make it a point to pay homage to Chez Panisse. As fellow food blogger Chance wrote in his roundup of SF restaurants, “the place definitely lives up to its reputation.”

The lemon bundt cake was my favorite. Still warm from the oven, light and spongy, it was perfect with my morning black coffee.

Other favorites …

Snack Bar Austin Finally Opens

I was very excited to learn that Snack Bar on South Congress is officially open after months of construction, waiting, and two soft openings — one during SXSW in March and one during Austin City Limits Music Festival in early October.
I called and was told that they will be open for the next week during breakfast, lunch, and for afternoon snacktime — closing at 4 p.m. I believe their hours will stretch much later once they have a chance to hire more staff and get in the groove.
This spot, vacated …
