Odd Duck was one of the most popular and successful food trailers in Austin during the food truck boom of 2010 to early 2012. I kept hearing about a cronut™ craze going on in New York last spring — with people lining up over two hours before Dominique Ansel’s bakery opened for the chance to try one. The Austin food scene is constantly changing. It was announced last week that a local favorite, Odd Duck Farm to Trailer, is closing. Chef Bryce Gilmore is smart to focus on Barley Swine, his brick and mortar restaurant that has gotten rave reviews nationally.
And while some other old favorites have closed, or just gone downhill, there are new trailers constantly coming onto the scene to replace them. Last week, I got to try one of them — The Seedling Truck by the people who run Royal Fig Catering.

Damn, Austin! Just as I get on a roll with my healthy eating and exercise, you go and open up new mouthwatering restaurants! I hate you almost as much as I love you!
