Tasty Tuesdays: Austin’s Best, Oldest, Restaurants

This past weekend, Adam and I visited his grandmother Sylvia in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of the things I loved most about the trip was hearing more about Adam’s family history — and eating at places that Sylvia had loved for years. This included Goldie’s Patio (1961) and Braum’s Ice Cream (1968). We also visited Hideaway (1957), a childhood favorite of Apron Adventures‘ Lindsay.
All of that vintage eating activity made me think about restaurants in Austin that have stood the test of time. The ones that popped into my head include Scholz Garden …

Flip Happy Crepes = Heaven on Earth

This is the hardest blog to write. I feel the way an apprentice might have felt when trying to pay tribute to their master craftsman during the Middle Ages. That might sound like a stretch but what I’m trying to convey to you is that Flip Happy Crepes exemplifies the reason I blog about food.

Whole Foods Food Blogger Recipe Challenge

As a new food blogger, I can’t seem to contain my excitement to tell everyone about this new project. I’m having so much fun! The other night I was at a happy hour and was talking to some folks about social networking, twitter, blogging, etc. when I learned that Whole Foods is having a contest for food bloggers to create a recipe for under $4.
