Statesman: Apple Pie with Cheddar Cheese Crust

I was honored and surprised to receive a call from Addie Broyles yesterday asking a fact checking question about my adapted recipe for apple pie with cheese crust from a blog I wrote last fall. She told me that there was a question about the amount of sugar in the filling — and she was right. I had left out a 1/2 of a cup!
It was fun to open up the paper today and see the story in print.

As a public relations professional and a food blogger, I’m in a unique position to give feedback on public relations efforts targeting food bloggers.
While I’ve been thinking about this topic for a while, reading Food Mayhem’s thoughtful post on the subject really inspired me.

No. What I was on is referred to by many as a food trip, a journey made possible by a small, red, berry called Miracle Fruit, or Synsepalum dulcificum.
Thanks to a donation of 20 frozen Miracle Fruit berries from a company called Miracle Fruit …

The Tasty Touring Linkdown

I apologize for not posting in a week. I’m going to steal an idea from my friend Omar Gallaga and share some fun stuff with you in the form of a linkdown.
First of all, Addie Broyles took this photo and posted it to her blog. No, I did not tag my own blog name but yes, I’m glad it’s there.
Cool Food News from around Austin:
