Showing Love for Cupid’s Hot Dogs (L.A.)

I’m pleased to introduce you to Lenny H., who submitted the post below on Cupid’s Hot Dogs via an e-mail to his son (and my boyfriend), Adam, who forwarded it on to me. After last week’s KGSR radio show and blog post on Frank, a fancy hot dog restaurant and bar in downtown Austin, both Lenny and Adam’s cousin Evan wanted to spread the Cupid’s gospel. Lenny grew up in the Los Angeles area and Evan still lives there. Take it away, Lenny:
The all-time BEST hot dog I’ve ever tasted …

Lucali – The Best Pizza in Brooklyn?

A very belated “Thank You” to our Brooklyn friends — Josh, Laura, Lenny, and Danny. We visited them in late April and had dinner plans on a Thursday night. They told us to meet at Josh’s apartment at 5 pm for dinner at a place that was as famous for the long waits as they were for their pizza pies. It’s in Carroll Gardens and is called Lucali.

Introducing Guest Blogger Tom Benton

Tom Benton is a new friend who is extremely knowledgeable about food — and I’m pretty certain a whole lot else. He’s the kind of guy you want on your team when playing trivia, and to accompany you at 8 a.m. on a Saturday to check out the best BBQ in the world.
He is visiting his parents on the East Coast during a break from school and wrote me the wonderful late-night rant below from his parent’s home in Lexington, Virginia. The town is located three hours from D.C. …

FoodTouring in L.A. Part 1

I was in Los Angeles this weekend for the first of three leadership summits. On previous visits in the past year I’ve had awesome meals at Canter’s Deli, K-zo (amazing sushi fusion), Alcove Cafe & Bakery (mmm brunch), and Fraiche (French/New American).

This time I was in the city for just a day and a half but I managed to fit a fair amount of food touring. Jamie picked me up at LAX on Saturday and we drove straight to Urth Cafe to split their Urth Farmer’s Salad. We then walked …
