Tasty Tuesdays: New Food Has Come to Light

Damn, Austin! Just as I get on a roll with my healthy eating and exercise, you go and open up new mouthwatering restaurants! I hate you almost as much as I love you! I will prevail though — I will show you, and show myself, that I can enjoy deliciously rich dishes once in a while, stay on track the rest of the time, and still lose weight [shakes fist]!
So here’s my plan: eat as healthy as possible 90% of the time and the other 10%, check out these new …

I was up on the food scene back then but I’m now pretty much a run-of-the-mill tourist with no idea what has opened since then. When I visit, I rely on the kindness of strangers and friends.

Yucatán – sweetness and achiote seasoning

I went with Galaxy Cafe and it served the needs of my friends, my dog, and I nicely. The food was good but they really won my heart when they brought out a doggie bowl filled with …

Tasty Tuesdays: Best Affordable Sushi in Austin

After a particularly upsetting sushi lunch experience yesterday, I woke up this morning wanting to know what you guys think is the best affordable sushi in Austin. I wrote about this topic last year but wanted to revisit since more spots have opened and hopefully more people feel comfortable leaving comments.
To answer my own question, my favorites include Sushi A-Go-Go (two trailer locations now — Medical Arts and Barton Springs Road), Whole Foods, and Central Market. Adam mentioned that Mikado on Research Blvd. used to be really good but we …
