Google “Austin Interior Mexican” and you won’t have to scroll far down to find Fonda San Miguel. Before Fonda opened in 1975, Austin was a decidedly Tex-Mex town.

Where do you like to get your brunch on? There are so many options, yet I found myself at a loss this weekend. For one, Sunday brunch happened on Monday since it was Labor Day. Also, my 80 lb. black lab/great dane was with me so I needed a spot with a dog-friendly patio.

Two of my favorites are located on or near Rainey Street just southeast of the Austin Convention Center. El Naranjo was opened by Iliana de la Vega and her husband and features delicious interior Mexican food. The menu changes regularly, but if you go, I recommend the Gringas al Pastor if they have it.
Another spot in the area I really enjoy is G’raj …
