An Evening of Food Trailer and Bar Hopping

My friend Jan was in town last month for a wedding and of course, she wanted to check out the food truck scene. I had recently tired of food trucks because to be totally honest, most of them are nothing special. However, I did have a handful that I wanted to try, and we decided to have dinner at Love Balls.
Love Balls is located in the lower part of the East Side Drive In, next to Progress Coffee.

They serve takoyaki, a Japanese street food that is classically fried pancake balls …

A Taste of Austin’s Noble Pig

Last night, I had the pleasure of being invited to a tasting at the Noble Pig. Visiting the Noble Pig has been high on my list to visit since it opened last fall. But as my friends can tell you, I rarely venture outside of the twenty minute driving radius from my house. Contigo Austin: First Impressions

Last night, Adam and I visited Contigo Austin, that he learned was open through a little social media detective work. They are currently in their soft opening period, with the grand opening announced for May 7. We are super excited about Contigo because:

It is an 8 minute drive, 45 minute walk, and 2.5 miles away from our house
We can hang out with all of our friends who live nearby — including those with kids!
It’s dog friendly
They have a great menu that includes interesting drinks, small plates, and entrees

Here’s the sign …

Where to Eat in Santa Fe

On this trip to Santa Fe, I didn’t have much of an appetite and felt nauseous most of the time due to altitude sickness, so I actually didn’t eat very much. However, some dishes and restaurant experiences did stand out.
Linda’s Nutty Granola at Pasqual’s.
Plato Mexicano at The Pink Adobe, a restaurant serving an interesting fusion of New Mexican and French food. One of my favorite questions they ask when you order New Mexican food is red? green? or Christmas? Christmas is what they call red and green salsa together.
Drinking chocolate …
