Sometimes, when people visit Austin for the weekend, or for events like SXSW, they decide not to rent a car if they are staying downtown. Downtown Austin used to be sort of a ghost town as far as great restaurants went, with a few sprinkled here and there, but not enough to sustain even a weekend visitor very easily. Pieous: Pizza, Pastrami, and Pie made with love

Pieous, a wonderful little restaurant serving amazing made-with-love food is opening on 290 West sometime later this week, and I highly recommend you check it out!
The restaurants is located at 12005 Highway 290 West towards Dripping Springs, about twenty five minutes from downtown Austin towards Dripping Springs. I recently met the owners, Josh and Paige, through various friends that we have in common, and have had the opportunity to check out their space and taste their food a couple times in the past few weeks.

Alain Ducasse’s La Bastide de Moustiers

Our final show-stopping meal in Provence was at Bastide de Moustiers in Moustiers, an Alain Ducasse restaurant and inn in Moustiers Sainte Marie. It was about an hour and a half drive from our hotel in Aix, but the drive was beautiful, and the meal was perfect in every way.

Le Castelas: Provence Lunch of a Lifetime

I hope you will forgive me for posting about a meal I had a year and a half ago. It’s one of the dining experiences that you should have before you die if at all possible (especially if you are ever in the Luberon, in France).
