ACL Food Rocks

Thanks to my client, AT&T I was lucky enough to attend the Austin City Limits Music Festival for the second year in a row. I saw some great bands including Fleet Foxes, Jose Gonzalez, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Spiritualized, John Fogerty, and Robert Plant/Alison Krauss. My favorite show by far was Plant and Krauss who gave a virtuosic, entrancing, sexy performance that included a wonderful band along with special guest T-Bone Burnett.

A Rich 30th Birthday

Thank you to my amazing friends and family for helping me celebrate my 30th birthday in style! Many of you gave me food-related gifts — the collection of New Yorker food writing, an adorable homemade apron, a gift card to William Sonoma, and a Whole Foods gift certificate for cooking classes. Babies are Delicious

Last night I had the pleasure of babysitting for seven-month-old Mia Ansel, daughter of David and Meredith. I headed over there at about 6:30 p.m. (after picking up the keys to my new apartment — I’m moving today!) to get instructions on how to care for a baby.
I did have an idea of how to change a diaper but I wanted to make sure to learn their routine so that Mia would feel comfortable. After the orientation, they sweetly asked if I had eaten dinner (I hadn’t).
