Oh So Fino

If variety is the spice of life, then FINO has mastered the art of living.
I attended the Blogger Happy Hour hour in Jodi’s place, and when I showed up, about 30 people were gathered on the restaurant’s beautifully decorated outdoor patio – the kind of patio everyone dreams of having in their home, with sleek yet comfy furniture as Mediterranean-inspired as the menu. (When I mentioned at my next happy hour that I’d just come from FINO, my friend asked, “Is that the place with the great patio upstairs?” Yep, …

Guest Blog: Is an Organic Burger Necessarily Eco-Friendly?

Guest Blogger Laura S. reviews TerraBurger below. To learn more about Laura, feel free to read the intro for her first guest blogging appearance back in January, when she told us about her attempt at making gnocchi from scratch.
I’d never heard of the Austin-owned TerraBurger before today, and I had no idea one just opened up on the Drag.

“Weren’t you in here yesterday?”
The place was empty at the tail end of lunchtime. I sat at the kitchen counter and watched a virgin sausage-maker get his pork legs; browsed the chef’s copy of …

Introducing Guest Blogger Tom Benton

Tom Benton is a new friend who is extremely knowledgeable about food — and I’m pretty certain a whole lot else. He’s the kind of guy you want on your team when playing trivia, and to accompany you at 8 a.m. on a Saturday to check out the best BBQ in the world.
He is visiting his parents on the East Coast during a break from school and wrote me the wonderful late-night rant below from his parent’s home in Lexington, Virginia. The town is located three hours from D.C. …
