Tasty n Sons in Portland

I’m so very glad that we followed the many recommendations and visited Tasty n Sons for brunch while we were in Portland last fall. Here’s a photo of the dining room that I grabbed from their website. Don’t you love the Soup Peddler-style bicycle on the wall?
How cute is this stamp on the top of the menu? I want to have hundreds of these made so that I can wear them everywhere.

Adam and I grabbed seats on the bar near the window, and ordered glasses of Smith Teamaker tea. You …

25 Recommended Downtown Austin Restaurants

Sometimes, when people visit Austin for the weekend, or for events like SXSW, they decide not to rent a car if they are staying downtown. Downtown Austin used to be sort of a ghost town as far as great restaurants went, with a few sprinkled here and there, but not enough to sustain even a weekend visitor very easily. The article details how Brandon and Benn decided to move to London together (Benn is British) after Benn was unable to renew his work visa. The article poignantly shows — through interviews with Brandon and Benn, a photo slideshow, and audio, the painful experience of leaving your country, line of work, family, and closest friends in order to stay with the person they love.
I was reminded how lucky I am to know my friend …

The Sandwich Project

Adam designed our wedding website, and the best part of the site was definitely the “ADAM + JODI” banner he created from scratch. It all happened on a Sunday in May when Adam had the inspiration of making our names out of sandwiches.
We started the day with brunch at Noble Pig with Emily G. and Kenny P. As we were waiting for our meal, Adam took the lead on brainstorming lists of different types of bread and sandwiches.
After brunch, I took a nap while Adam and Emily went to Central …
