I didn’t think anyone else really noticed that I took a bit of a hiatus from blogging, and was tickled to see that one of my loyal readers did notice — thanks for the shout (er, call)-out, RL. My last post about the Whole Foods Foodie Fantasy contest trip that we took was last November, but I’m determined to finish these up before the one year anniversary of our trip so that I have them to share with others going to Europe.
Before we hit Bruges, or Brugge, Belgium, we were in Amsterdam so obviously these posts aren’t in chronological order.
I had never been to Amsterdam, and one of the first things I noticed is that there were bicycles everywhere!

We enjoyed a great, old-fashioned day trip on a Saturday a couple weeks ago when our friend Jon took me, Adam, and Dana, our friend from D.C., in a spin in Hazel, his 1956 Chevy Bel Air.
Jon’s family owned Chevrolet dealerships in Lockhart for three generations, and about twenty years ago, someone traded Hazel in for a new car, and Jon asked his dad to save her for him.
