Recommended Austin Food Trucks

19 June 2012 4,843 views 20 Comments

I’m often asked about my favorite food trucks, or those I most recommend in town since there are so many. Here is a list of trucks that are either my favorites, or those that I know many other people enjoy.

South of the River

Dock and Roll

La Boite

Gourdoughs

Ice Cream Social

La Tasca

Downtown

Graj Mahal

East of I-35

  • East Side King at Liberty Bar – Chicken Karaage, Veggie Meshi, Tongue Buns

East Side King

Pachamama

What are some of your favorite food trucks?

I'm pretty sure La Tasca is closed.

I checked all of their web presence, and haven't found anything that says they are closed. However, folks posted on their FB page asking them if they were closed, and no one responded. They used to be at Jessie Street Eats but I guess they are no longer there. I hope they open up again!

    PIG VICIOUS.

  • Okonomiyakilover

Yoko Ono Miyaki. Different and way awesome.

  • Mike S

Surf N. Turf remains my favorite Downtown lunchtime treat. Pork Tacos. Yum.

I love Chi'Lantro too, but they don't look too “downtown” anymore. Looks like they bring a truck down to feed the revelers on weekend nights but they're not there for the working stiffs at lunch anymore. Sad.

I love Osmo's on East 11th.  Grilled Shrimp Poboy.  Nice people.  Shady spot.

  • South Austin Foodie

I always enjoy the bbq pork banh mi from LuLu B's at Oltorf and Lamar, as well as their spring rolls. Okasa Soul, who make the Japanese “pancakes” known as okonomiyaki just left the S. 1st & Live Oak trailer park for some place on the east side (check their FB page), but they were good, and something unique! I can verify that La Tasca is not at Jessie St. Eats, and haven't heard of them re-opening somewhere else….

Oh my gosh, that steak from Pachamama's looks DIVINE. I'd heard about them but then couldn't remember what they were called so I could go – thanks for blogging about it so I could add it to my Master List of places to try! :D

Wow, Pachamama's looks wonderful. I didn't knew it was there.

Sadness – Pachamama's is now closed! Thanks to Scrumptious Chef for this news:
http://www.scrumptiouschef.com…. I hope they open up again soon. The food trailer business is tough. Especially in the hot summer months!

Pachamama’s is back up for business, with a few more items in the menu.
