Greenling Recipe Kits
I first heard about Greenling’s recipe kits from some of my colleagues who were raving about how easy it is to whip up a delicious and balanced meal with them. I contacted the company and asked if I could check out one of the kits for a week and write about the experience. I was so charmed that I grabbed my credit card and ordered another recipe kit the following week.
Here’s a peek inside of my first recipe kit box, which was sitting on my porch when I came home from work.
Below are the recipe elements for Stuffed Mushrooms with Greens. This includes portobello mushroom caps, diced bell pepper, feta cheese, Parmesan, green onion, garlic, garbanzo beans, salt, and pepper.
And here is the stuffing mixture ready to pour over the mushroom caps for baking.
And below are ingredients for Seasonal Fettucine Primavera with Salad. It included one of my favorite ideas from the recipe kits –the use of garlic butter. So simple, so delicious! You’ll note that I chose vegetable recipe kits for both weeks, but they also offer kits with meat, vegan, Engine 2 Diet kits, side kits, and juicing kits.
All of the ingredients except black beans and tortillas for the Roasted Vegetable Tacos with Black Beans are pictured below. A great tip that I learned from the recipe kits was to use half of cans of beans for one recipe, and half for another instead of feeling like I had to make one bean-heavy dish every time I open a can of beans.
And here is the finished veggie taco with a side of beans.
And a lovely Creamy Tomato Soup with Garlic Bread (love me some of that garlic butter).
The kits range from $80 to $96 for five meals for two people, with no charge for delivery. When you order, you choose how much to tip the driver. All-in-all, not a bad option for busy singles or couples who want to prepare their own food at home but choose not to spend their time shopping or meal planning.
