Snap Kitchen: My Results

1 January 2012 605 views View Comments

I’ve now been off the Snap Kitchen 21-day Snap Commit program for a little over a week, and I miss those prepared meals! I’ve definitely noticed the difference in how I felt when I was on the program — energized! optimistic! — with the way I feel now (sluggish) and I miss having my own personal chef to make sure I’m putting the right things in my system.

Overall, I lost two pounds, my energy level was high, I slept well, and my skin was even clearer during the program. I gave myself license for the last week and a half of the year to kind of go back to my old habits, but I’m resolving to eat more protein, veggies, and more frequent meals in the New Year to continue my progress.

As you know, I offered to write four blog posts about my experience with Snap in exchange for them subsidizing two-thirds of the cost of the 21-day program, and since this is my final post, I asked Snap if they would partner with me on a giveaway. Leave a comment below, and one lucky reader chosen at random will receive three Snap Kitchen meals — one breakfast, one lunch, and one dinner!

I recommend the following three dishes to the winner, and don’t forget to supplement with a morning and afternoon snack to ensure that you get enough calories for the day!

Breakfast: Banana Pancakes with a side of fruit

Lunch: Buffalo Quinoa Hash

Dinner: Vegetable Lasagna

Congratulations to Kay! You are the winner! Thanks to everyone else for commenting and I wish you the best of luck with your goals. I always have to remind myself that it's about making good choices as often as possible, and not beating myself up for the choices I made in the past!

Jodi, thanks for your info.  I'm back to "all time high" after the holidays, and committed to get back to daily exercise and better eating in 2012.  I think Snap Kitchen is in my future...

Alex - I have no doubt in your abilities and know once you set your mind to it, nothing will stand in your way!

More protein in the form of nuts and beans, much much MUCH less meat, and incorporating more vegetarian/vegan meals for family dinners!
  • jodibart
All good things! I also like to limit my meat intake, even though I know that chicken is like the wonder protein.

Great results! I've tried a few of Snap Kitchen's meals and they are yummy. I'm embarking on a more veggies, more whole grains slant to my diet for 2012, along with more exercise.

I am getting caught up on emails and on your blog posts.  I heard of Snap Kitchen, but did not know much about it.  It was great to read your posts and I checked out their web site.  I am very interested in the 21 day commit.  The meal selections look great.  I can't wait to try them out.  Thanks Jodi!

    Thanks so much, Craig!
  • My only goal is to try more fun food in 2012, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to do a little healthy eating too!

Jodi  - I would love love love to have more Snap in my diet :) This year, I'm working on cutting out the caffeine and getting more green leafies in my diet.
  • jodibart
Caffeine is in total control of my life! Wish I wasn't so addicted to it....

You are such a great PR person. Snap Kitchen is lucky to have you as one of their participants. I can vouch for the program. You looked terrific.

The #1 change I need to make in my diet is to cut out soda! I'm also going to try to hit the farmer's markets more often and eat seasonal fruits and vegetables.
