Support Austin Food Blogger Team in Slow Food Austin Quiz Bowl
I’m so excited to be joining Megan of Stetted, Melanie of My Rubberbandball and the Austin Chronicle, and Kathryn of Austin Gastronomist as the only all-food blogger (and potentially the only all-female) team!
And we have a study strategy. Maybe not as extreme as what Rodney Dangerfield did in the film Back to School, but we’re serious about learning as much food trivia as we can over the next couple weeks.
We would love the support of our food blogger friends, as well as others in the Austin community. The games are on Sunday, Aug. 14 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Highball, and it should be a lot of fun! Click here to buy your tickets.
In case you need further motivation, we’ll be playing against teams that include David from The Soup Peddler, and Mason from Greenling (my Adam is playing on their team). Other teams include competitors from Barley Swine, Alamo Drafthouse, Fino, Whole Foods Austin, Trace at the W, Ecstatic Cuisine, and Glazer’s.
Addie Broyles of the Statesman wil M.C. and has devised questions on food history, cheese, pop culture, alcohol, food artisanry, and foodie trends. There will be food from some of Austin’s best local food purveyors including Cuvee, Wink, Bee Cave Tavern, Kocurek Charcuterie, Salt &Time, Confituras, Jeffrey’s, Parkside, Thai Fresh, Olivia, Contigo, and of course the Highball.
During half-time, Bryan Butler of Salt & Time will break down a pig carcass and the cuts will be auctioned off on site. If that’s not enough, there will also be door prizes and a raffle!
Get your tickets before they sell out — and I have a feeling they will sell out. What better way to spend an Austin Sunday afternoon in the heat of summer?
