Tasty Touring is Two! Help me Celebrate YOUR Life in Food

Today is exactly two years, 345 posts, 10 Tasty Tours, and over 20 pounds since I started this blog.
Since then, the name has changed (from Food Touring to Tasty Touring) and the design has changed (thanks to Adam Holzband at Talking Machine). However, the reasons I keep posting remains the same: to express myself in an honest and creative way, share my life through the lens of food, and connect with others.
Am I a foodie? Don’t get me started on the negative connotations I have with that word. What I …

Bessie H: Your Life in Food

We saved the best and the most historic interview for last. Regular readers of Tasty Touring might already know and love Adam’s Bubbe from”The Bubbe Chronicles: Eating with Bubbe.” The most common word to describe Bubbe by her family and friends is “Amazing” and that is certainly true. Two of my favorites are located on or near Rainey Street just southeast of the Austin Convention Center. El Naranjo was opened by Iliana de la Vega and her husband and features delicious interior Mexican food. The menu changes regularly, but if you go, I recommend the Gringas al Pastor if they have it.
Another spot in the area I really enjoy is G’raj …

Adam H: Questions on Your Life in Food

Anyone who has spent time with Adam knows immediately that he is passionate about food and cooking. We love grocery shopping, cooking, and eating together and I’m so lucky to share this adventure in life and food with him. He is a wonderful storyteller and I hope this is one of many guest blog posts to come.

Adam H. – Born in 1975 (grandson of Sylvia and Bessie; son of Paula and Lenny; boyfriend of Jodi)
If you were given a dollar to …
