Andrea Day-Boykin of Flip Happy Crepes on KGSR

Andrea chatted with me, Andy, and Bryan today about Flip Happy Crepes, the converted airstream trailer she owns with business partner Nessa Huggins.
She brought some delicious crepes for us to taste include the vanilla cream with berries, lemon curd with blueberries, the Cuban, ham and cheese, and bananna nutella. If only every day began with a fresh nutella and banana crepe. Mmmmmm.
The news? Flip Happy is now open from Wednesdays to Sundays from at least 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Free Samples Day

Today I’m at the mercy of the food and beverage marketers of the world. My level of fullness is completely dependent on the plans for today’s grocery store merchants and food publicists to offer tasty and nutritious snacks. Adam and I are heading down to meet David Becker at the downtown Farmer’s Market to begin our quest for free samples.

The mission: Live off of free samples for a full day and live blog the experience on both Tasty Touring and The Forty Days.

Jen Strickland from Home Slice on KGSR

Jen Strickland, co-owner of Home Slice Pizza joined us today on KGSR to chat about the staff’s recent pizza research trip to New York City, their blog, share some Home Slice goodies with us (like pizza, calzone, salad, garlic knots, and a rice krispies treat).

We also talked about their new patio bar with ping-pong table, upcoming expansion into the building next-door, Carnival of Pizza coming up on Dec. 5, and Seth Mazow’s “Year of the Pizza.”
