I’m really looking forward to chatting with Max Elliott from Urban Roots and YouthLaunch tomorrow on KGSR 107.1 at 8:30 a.m. CT. We’ll be on the KGSR “Late Show” with Andy and Bryan and it will be streaming live online if you want to check it out.
I wrote about my experience at an Urban Roots community lunch this summer (scroll to the bottom of this hodgepodge blog) and first discovered this awesome non-profit while participating in last year’s Austin Urban Farm Bicycle Tour.

I was honored to be a judge a couple weeks ago in Jennie Chen’s Cupcake Smackdown at One 2 One bar in downtown Austin and have been meaning to write about the event since then. When owner Tony Villani showed up that morning …

I love spending time with guest blogger Laura S. and her main squeeze Mike, so was very pleased that they were invited to attend the food blogger’s happy hour last night at Gumbo’s.
The restaurant is beautiful and location on Colorado between 7th and 8th in the historic Brown Building. While I’ve never experienced a meal at Gumbo’s, I did recently blog about Vault 55, the super exclusive wine storage facility in the basement of the building.
Gumbo’s would be perfect for a quiet business lunch, or a romantic dinner. There’s …
