February has not been kind to me. Just as I started to get over a bout of either walking pneumonia or bronchitis (the doctor at the clinic wasn’t sure which I had but gave me antibiotics to fight both), I got a bad cold. As some of you may know, I joined Weight Watchers in January of 2008. I lost 25 pounds in about six months and was able to maintain that weight for a year. Once you reach your personal goal weight on the program, you can attend meetings for free as long as you weigh in at least once a month at within two pounds (higher or lower) of that magic number.

If you love popcorn, you should give Cornucopia a try. Located on Guadalupe next to Veggie Heaven and across from Dobie Mall. Cornucopia has been open a few months. Owners Nikki Dugas and Nadia Elhaj tell took over the space from a different popcorn place that closed over the summer.

Over the past month, I’ve started to receive invitations to food events. This is a very pleasant and unexpected benefit of being a food blogger in Austin. Our little dorky food blogger community has really formed thanks to Addie Broyles, a food reporter for the Statesman.
Addie has made it a point to connect people with food blogs on Facebook, Twitter, through Addie’s Eat-ups, and through her blog roll on Relish Austin, her statesman.com food blog.
