Wishing You a Sweet New Year

L’Shana Tova to all of my fellow tribe members and a sweet New Year to All! Last night I enjoyed Rosh Hashanah dinner at Dave and Meredith’s. Their home is filled with such warmth and love and last night was especially cozy. They have so many people in their lives that they decided not to host a big Rosh Hashanah dinner like they often do. I had invited myself over as did Brian H. and Brian S. so it was a small group of us who rang in the …

ACL Food Rocks

Thanks to my client, AT&T I was lucky enough to attend the Austin City Limits Music Festival for the second year in a row. I saw some great bands including Fleet Foxes, Jose Gonzalez, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Spiritualized, John Fogerty, and Robert Plant/Alison Krauss. We would go out to lunch every Friday and I took on the role of the Lunch Czar — making sure that everyone had an equal chance to pick where we went. I also devised a fork-based rating system (between 1-5) along with comments and posted the scores on a rudimentary internal site.
Adam sent me the attached screenshot of the very cool updated website. …

A Rich 30th Birthday

Thank you to my amazing friends and family for helping me celebrate my 30th birthday in style! Many of you gave me food-related gifts — the collection of New Yorker food writing, an adorable homemade apron, a gift card to William Sonoma, and a Whole Foods gift certificate for cooking classes. Stay tuned for posts about the classes soon!

A fun group of friends took me to dinner at Titaya’s Thai on N. Lamar last night. I hadn’t been there and it was pretty good–particularly the shrimp summer rolls. I’ll be …
